In case you're wondering I haven't posted in a few days because I've been really busy anticipating the complete redesign of I Heart Heels. I know, right?! It's enough to make anyone squeal!
I started this sweet little blog of mine in the spring of 2008, so that means this May it will be a whopping NINE years old. I figured it was time for a huge refresh.
**insert huge deep breathe**
So...here goes!
It's not that I'm tired of seeing it look as it does now (although you prob are?), it's that with time I think it's always a good idea to freshen things up, especialy when it comes to design. I've been using a template (which is embarrassing) from Blogger since I started with a cool logo my friend made for me. And while I loved it for so long, and still do, I'm so excited (can't even tell you how excited!) to have a new person come in and completely redesign the entire thing so that it's much easier for you to navigate and even prettier than it's ever been before. Gotta showcase those shoes in the best light, ya know?
So by next week, look for this huge change. I think it's fitting for so many changes I've had personally this past year to go ahead and move forward with a blog refresh as well. It's perfect, actually.
Will you celebrate with me? I've got some major exciting things in the works, y'all! (maybe a giveaway or two very soon?) Keep checking back for the NEW I Heart Heels. Wink.
(insert more squeals!!!!)

These Are a Few of My Favorite (Coach) Things
I heart the fall so much, y'all! It's slowly cooling down here (I mean it's 90 this week without all the humidity...), but not fast enough. I've been wearing my moto jackets with dresses and booties like whoa because, hello, you've gotta start somewhere.
My favorite trends for fall always are boots, backpacks and moto jackets. Can't. get. enough. I fell in love with these favorites from Coach and I think you will, too. The Icon moto jacket is as dreamy as can be. I lovethe classic look of it. I feel like it's a great investment considering I wear a moto jacket about 90-percent of the time with my dresses. Can you say staple?
And the Lucia boots are on fire - for serious. I love this perfect shade of camel and the foldover on top adds some serious style. I never like a high heel on my tall boots, so this version just absolutely adorable.
And while this backpack is made for men, I love it for moi. I actually quite often shop for handbags in the men's department because they're so clean and classic. This rucksack is some quality leather, folks.
And did you know Coach offers free gift boxes for all orders and the most amazing monogramming that's free on select items? Being from the south, I just love a monogram and can imagine how perfect it would be on this skinny wallet. Am I right?
Anyway, happy fall shopping, lovelies! I hope you heart these pieces as much as I do. xoxo

How I Wore My Heels: Cold Shoulder Continues
I'm so glad the cold shoulder trend has stuck around for fall because I'm completely gaga over it. And since it's still a mild 80 degrees around it here, it's the perfect way to spruce up our wardrobes down south until it finally gets frigid in a couple of months. (I honestly don't want shoulders that cold, so will be abandoning it then.)
There are tons of ways I like to wear this Gianni Bini top from Dillard's - here I'm wearing it with my favorite distressed jeans by Joe's Jeans, alice + olivia metallic heels and Rebbeca Minkoff snakeskin clutch But this past weekend I wore it out with my girlfriends with black leather shorts. And when I wear it to work, I wear it with black ponte pants. I think everyone should wear bright colors...it just feels I so good! It's an instant recharging of the spirit. And we all need that every once and awhile, amen?
The one thing I do miss about going back to work full time is my distressed jeans, so any chance I get to wear them, I def do. They're the chic version of living in yoga pants, perhaps. (And I did that for many years, might I add. Can't do it anymore!)
Here's to wearing more brights this week as we head into fall (be a fashion rebel!) and, as always, have a chic week. Air kisses xoxo
Oh, and my heels and bag have since sold out, but you can find similar versions at the links below!

Whiny Wednesdays: Skip Hop Zoobrella Makes Rainy (or Sunny) Days Fun
What can I say? She's the cutest two-year-old I've ever seen. It literally kills me that my blogging policy has always been not to show faces because, y'all her face is adorable. She has so many hilarious expressions these days, I love it.
For about a week, we had rain literally every day. And, oh, that just so happened to be the first week of school and our new Sunday School classes. So one morning as the three of us hovered under the same tiny umbrella, I realized what we needed. Our very own umbrellas. (It kinda helped my decision as I watched another family quietly and so elegantly waltz towards the building each with their own, while we fought and screamed over getting the tiniest drop of rain on ourselves because someone was hogging the umbrella. Ok, I might hate getting wet, myself, and it wasn't just the kids. Sigh.)
So now that she has her own Skip Hop Zoobrella umbrella ($15) that looks like an adorable ladybug (there are seven different animals to choose from), it hasn't rained. A drop. But, you know what? She doesn't care! She carries it around like there's a tsunami coming - and looks cute as can be. The "Livie Ladybug" umbrella really is just her size. It features a child-sized handle and a release that's gentle to open and close. The 3-D ears are definitely the cutest features, but I also love the peek-a-boo window so I can still see her when she's holding it - and (drumroll) it's phthalate free. You don't find many of those, folks.
I'll post more on her outfit soon (because there's a cuuuuuute vest) that coordinates with it when it gets slightly cooler), but you know how we love our Zutano for everyday (hello, all-the-time) wear. They have the most amazing sets, like this one from the fall 2016 collection, that slip on and off so easily and wash like whoa! This is the new Folktale print flora top ($28) and it's paired with the hot pink stretch knit leggings ($29). Little L. is in love with the bunnies on this print so much!
I'm so excited about her new fall wardrobe and mine as well! It's finally here.
See you at the playground! And...bring an umbrella?!

Jillian Murray of Code Black Shares About Her Shoes
Get excited all you drama TV junkies because Code Black returns for season TWO tomorrow night (September 28) at 9 p.m. CST on CBS.
I couldn't be more thrilled to chat with star Jillian Murray who plays Dr. Heather Pinkney. She's a fellow shoe lover, after all. She filled me in on her shoe closet and what she's currently watching on Netflix. Read on!
I Heart Heels: Who inspires you most in acting?
Jillian Murray: Right now, I'm inspired by the entire cast and crew of Code Black. Everyone gives 100 percent and is so passionate. That's inspiring.
IHH: What do you do for fun when you're not acting?
JM: Anything to do with animals is usually my go to. I'm always looking into new locations to travel, just so I can experience their local animals. I just got back from a trip to Exuma Bahamas so I could meet the swimming pigs and the endangered iguanas. It was epic!
IHH: Do you have a workout routine?
JM: I actually don't have one yet. I've been looking into starting one, but my schedule is so inconsistent that I'm finding it hard. Ok, maybe I'm just making excuses!
IHH: What's your favorite thing to watch on Netflix?
JM: Stranger Things
IHH: You're obsessed with shoes, I hear. What's your newest pair and what do you want next? How do you organize them in your closet?
JM: My newest pair are my Gianmarco Lorenzi blue suede booties. I can't wait for fall weather to wear them.
IHH: Celebrity crush?
JM: My boyfriend, Dean Geyer.
IHH: After working on Code Black, would you ever go into the medical field?
JM: Yes! I would be interested in Dermatology.
IHH: Would you ever get plastic surgery?JM: I heard there was a procedure where they inject the bottom of your feet with fillers to make heels more comfortable. I'd be down to try that.
IHH: What's your secret to your perfect wavy hair?
JM: I like to let my hair air dry and then I run a curling iron through it. Then, I tightly wrap it in a big claw. I go to bed like that and when I wake up it has perfectly undone waves.
IHH: Sephora or Ulta?
JM: Sephora is heaven!

How I Wore My Heels: Grommets, Please
I really get excited about fall trends everyone can wear - and trends that I can really embrace. Grommets? Yes, please. This black eyelet dress from French Connection is one of my new favorites and it embraces the grommet trend of the season so well and so easy!
There's no limit to the amount of little black dresses a girl can own, so if you're stuck trying to figure out what to buy for fall, a classic black dress is always a staple. And when it finally gets cooler outside (because it so wasn't this past week), it will be perfect to pair with tights and these same booties.
It's the perfect dress for work, or any time you just want to look classy. Just add grommets!
[Disclaimer: I was not compensated for this post. French Connection sent me this dress in exchange for testing and review. All opinions are my own. It's my favorite, y'all.]
