These Are a Few of My Favorite (Coach) Things

my favorite fall jacket from Coach

I heart the fall so much, y'all! It's slowly cooling down here (I mean it's 90 this week without all the humidity...), but not fast enough. I've been wearing my moto jackets with dresses and booties like whoa because, hello, you've gotta start somewhere.

My favorite trends for fall always are boots, backpacks and moto jackets. Can't. get. enough. I fell in love with these favorites from Coach and I think you will, too. The Icon moto jacket is as dreamy as can be. I lovethe  classic look of it. I feel like it's a great investment considering I wear a moto jacket about 90-percent of the time with my dresses. Can you say staple?

And the Lucia boots are on fire - for serious. I love this perfect shade of camel and the foldover on top adds some serious style. I never like a high heel on my tall boots, so this version just absolutely adorable.

And while this backpack is made for men, I love it for moi. I actually quite often shop for handbags in the men's department because they're so clean and classic. This rucksack is some quality leather, folks.

And did you know Coach offers free gift boxes for all orders and the most amazing monogramming that's free on select items? Being from the south, I just love a monogram and can imagine how perfect it would be on this skinny wallet. Am I right?

Anyway, happy fall shopping, lovelies! I hope you heart these pieces as much as I do. xoxo

It's Almost Leather Leggings Season (Squeal)

Review of the front-zip leather leggings
Nothing makes me happier for fall (my birthday!) than new ankle booties and...drumroll...leather leggings. I've grown rather attached to mine over the past couple of years. It's like the fancy version of yoga pants, seriously.

The most comfortable pair of pants you can still look so chic in - and you can pretty much throw on anything with it. Pair them with a white button-down...a tunic or a big, fluffy sweater. (Please just nothing fitted since the pants are edgy enough, k?)

Actress Margot Robbie has been wearing this pair, the front-zip leather legging, from alice + olivia by stacey bendet. They are everything. And she wore them with chambray, which is always a good idea.

Unforth at $798, I'll need a leather leggings fund (now is where I might mention mine are "faux" leather...). But a girl can dream, right?

Girls, prepare now. It's just about leather leggings season! Squeal!

Ivyrevel Steals My Heart

What makes fashion?

I love that anyone can answer this question with something different at any given moment.

I'm in love with fashion. What I'm most in love with is how you can take something and make it your own - just by the way you style it. It can be high end or low end - colorful or muted. I most often find that my favorite pieces are those I had a huge question mark about at first glance. Something that made me that's interesting. It's that standout piece that you can pair with basic black or the basic black (hello, backpack love of my life) that you can pair with another standout piece. Enter Ivyrevel

Clean silhouettes are always modern and great. Add something flashy and you have a fashion moment waiting to happen. Like the gold tassel earrings here that are only $67.90, mind you. These are stellar and I squeal at the thought of them. And while I heart every piece on this page, the quilted cruiser jacket is so me. I'd be all over wearing this with a tiny black skirt or LBD.

And now I'm digging more into this brand because, well, look at it. It's hot.

P.S. This brand is a pioneering digital fashion brand that just began in April. It's supported by H&M Group, PayPal and selected influential business giants within digital technology. Way cool. Look it up.

Sun Safety the Chic Way

Pool day...squeal! I'm so excited it's summer I can hardly stand it. The fact that we have a pool always makes summer that much sweeter (pun intended). Look! I got one of those cute lil' donut floats I've been wanting since last summer (and I may or may not also have a gigantic white swan that almost takes up the whole pool...oops!).

If you can't tell, I'm obsessed with all things pink, so when UnderCover WaterWear offered to send me this adorable rashguard I couldn't resist. I'm completely fair-skinned at heart, so I have no shame in covering up when it comes to being outside in the water. In fact, I'll definitely be taking this on our beach trip this month. I've had skin cancer in the past, and that means I'm at a larger risk for developing it in the future. I don't wanna take any chances. I also want to be youthful as long as I can. Did you know that 80-percent of premature skin aging is from the sun. Crazy.

UnderCover WaterWear makes the most adorable pieces - from tops like this one to full dresses and skirts, which is great for the little ones. There are tons of patterns and colors, but I'm pretty sure the stripes mixed with pink had me at hello! Everything from this line is made from a special Lycra and Spandex swim fabric and it's chlorine-proof, non-clingy in the water and has UPF 50+ protect from the harmful UV rays. Can I also mention it's all made in the USA?

I hope you had a really fun, extra-long weekend and I'm so happy to see you back here! Here's to another chic week... air kisses xoxo

Poms Poms Are My Thing

If you haven't noticed, pom poms are everywhere this summer. And I sorta adore it. It's the equivalent of having your first birthday party every, single day and I just can't stand the cuteness. It's on sandals...hats...bags...

I stumbled across this pretty little thing from Erin Dana. This woven beach pouch is $85 and you can even monogram it...squeal! The brand has lots of colors, but I especially love the pop of bright blue for summer.

It's the perfect way to bring your fav little goodies down to the beach - sunglasses, credit cards and sunscreen. Or...if you're like me, you'll want to carry it with everything you wear, too. Going to get ice cream in your cover-up, don't forget your pom pom pouch! So fun, and so on trend. Everyone's doing it, y'all...

Stuart Weitzman Has Me Craving Fall Shoes

Happy Fri-YAY, everyone! I know it's been a bit (blush), but guess what? I'm having a littttttle bit of technical difficulty with my iPhoto (ok, I'm stressing about just a bit - I could lose my photos, what?!), so I thought I'd write about shoes today to calm myself the heck down. Who doesn't love a good shoe post on a Friday anyway.

While I adore spring/summer lovelies, fall/winter shoes just can't be beat. They are the grandmama of them all. And since Stuart Weitzman decided to pair up with (no pun intended) model Gigi Hadid, I had to share. Like, now. For the 10th year, it was shot by famed photographer Mario Testino and that's pretty amazing.

I'm super excited for this collection - and these ads. This black-and-white campaign channels strength and motion and was inspired by Gigi's own workout routine. Metallic boots. Slouchy boots (yes, please). Boots that make you look longer and leaner. And the famous Nudist high heel with mink adorning it. What a great update to this classic shoe for fall! If that doesn't get you excited on a Friday, what will?! It doesn't get any better than this.

I hope to return to more posts next week if I can get technology to cooperate. Until then, have a happy weekend! xoxo

Win a Pair of Wedges...No Joke!

Happy Friday, everyone! It may be April Fool's Day, but I can promise you this is no joke. Today I've teamed up with Inviting Arkansas, the premier social, fashion and entertaining publication in my home state of Arkansas - and I'm sooooo excited! Drumroll? We're giving away a pair of spring gladiator wedges from White House Black Market for your shoe wardrobe - I mean, it always needs updated, right?

These woven wedges (available for pre-order online today at White House Black Market! in stores April 11.) are so perfect for spring - the striped wedge heel sets it apart from all of the rest and brings a chic, sleek edge to the game. (I squealed just a bit when I first tried them on my feet!) An ankle strap, a peep-toe, a gorgeous brown hue...it's the formula for an amazing shoe, lovelies!

I've been wearing these wedges with so many pieces - from a crisp, white button-down dress to rolled jeans. The neutral hues on this wedge make it so easy to pair with white.

Comfort and style are super important to me and since I work full time and chase two little kids, these wedges are the ticket. I'm loving them and living in them. Now, do you want to WIN them? I've made it super easy for you. All you have to do is enter your info in the box below (there are lots of extra ways to get extra entries, too!) and voila! At the end of the month, we'll choose one lucky winner at random.

Good luck and happy spring shoe season! xoxo a Rafflecopter giveaway

Target's Plaid Takeover with Adam Lippes

Can I get a holy WOW on this upcoming Target collab? So fancy. I've always been in l-o-v-e with everything Adam Lippes creates (not to mention, he is the nicest guy). When I first started this blog, Adam was one of my first fashion week shows at NY Fashion Week in Bryant Park. It was absolutely amazing, and an opportunity I'll never forget. Adam's a designer who really gives people a chance when they're first starting out. He once sent me a handwritten note thanking me for covering his collection. It's those things that keep me coming back again and again. Not to mention his impeccable eye for style. So good. Adam can make a runway look amazing, but he also knows what the common folks like to wear. Amen?

Plaid became huge last fall and it's sticking around. I can say I'm so, so happy about this. And come September 27 (I have my iPhone calendar marked and alarm ready), I'll be shopping this collection like whoa. Hands off those heels because aren't they fabulous times one million??

The Adam Lippes for Target collection includes more than 50 buffalo plaid-inspired items ranging in price from $10-$129.99. The pieces will include home décor, apparel, shoes and accessories for women and men. Squeal!

Of course the black and white is a major must from this collab, but I'm also loving the warm, oatmeal tones in the collection as well...so cozy for fall. The cowl neck is so freaking chic.

For all things plaid and the complete lookbook, click here. See you in the shoe aisle, lovelies! xoxo

Rebecca Minkoff and Case-Mate Collab on the Chicest Wearable Tech

O-M-Goodness Gracious. Rebecca Minkoff accessories are number one stunner status always...and now besides the handbags and the shoes, I'll gladly add these "wearable tech" accessories to my collection. This is the fashion of the future (c'mon, you know you own a fashionable FitBit), and the dork in me is sorta squealing all ov-er.

Rebecca is teaming up with Case-Mate for this particular collab and ever since I saw it at NY Fashion Week with my own gasping face, I've been in crush mode. The Lightening Cable Bracelet ($58, above) is the more subtle of the two with black leather and gold clasp to hide the USB connectors that let you charge and sync your phone on the go...chicly. The Notification Bracelet ($120, below) is a gold chain-link dream complete with lots of gold studs. Get this. It alerts you to calls and texts via Bluetooth from up to 25 contacts - and alerts you with a simple vibration.

If these bracelets don't make you a techie right now, what would. Let the chic techies rule the planet and count me in, folks. My birthday = soon.

Rebecca Minkoff July Fourth Sale

Never met a Minkoff I didn't like. Who's with me? So I thought that when I found out the Rebecca Minkoff sale goods for this weekend, I'd do all my friendsies a favor and share the love. Lightweight dresses...chunky mules and amazing gladiator sandals...squeal! I can't look because I'll get in trouble. (Nah, I'm pretty smart about resisting temptation...it's when the shoes go ON my feet that we have a problem. Online sales? We're safe!)

The floral dress above is one of my fav picks because it's marked down to $198. I myself have invested in a RM shirtdress in the past for this price and I wear it way more than any cheap lil' knit thing from a kitschy chain store. Just sayin'. Cost per wear, folks. And the compliments can be endless.

And you know I'm not a flats girl at heart, but these gold gladiators make my heart go beat, beat. I think it's the ankle strap (sucker). They're crafted from luxe snakeskin and on sale for $150, so these are an incredible find.
My last fav is this slip-on sandal because holy wow, chicsters, who doesn't love a shoe you can slide in and out of on the fly? Work to carpool to errands to dinner. I feel like I could def cover some ground in these beauties. They're also on sale for $198 - so if you like the dress, or the shoes...or both? No one says you have to pick when we're celebrating the Fourth. Right?!

Watch I'm Currently Stalking

Let's get this straight. I'm blogging about a watch today. A watch. I'm not even a watch person. I admit; I'm the kind who relies on her iPhone with a bare wrist most of the time...gasp! But, this Tory Burch watch is something else. It's beyond, am I right? I mean, wouldn't you totally wear this watch every day for the rest of your life? Raising both hands and heels here.

Apparently this is the Sawyer watch and celeb Jaime King hearts it like I do. She's been wearing it everywhere in L.A. and I have a major case of jealous. So when you're in love with a watch you stalk it. And you immediately check the price and I did just that. I kinda slouched lower in my seat knowing it's $895. But goodness gracious, y'all, it's like a piece of artwork. It's the kinda of piece I'd love to wear forever and then pass down to baby L. It fits like a cuff and really looks like an exotic piece of jewelry. So chic. While I love any Tory watch, this one wins big. There's nothing else like it. I think I'll just buy this watch and conquer the world.

Who run the world?

Citizens of Humanity Launches Culottes This Summer

Denim brands come and go, but one of my tried-and-true is Citizens of Humanity. Not even joking. Whether it's a skinny jean or a true flare...something with a darker wash or even white, I love these jeans to pieces. The fit is just impeccable! It's hard to find a style I don't love in this brand. So...

When I found out about the Melanie Culottes launching July 1, I didn't even hesitate. Gauchos? Culottes? Hey, I do admit I'm a little shy to try. But this is the hottest trend right now, and CoH has never let me down. If there's one brand I'm gonna try this trend in, it's this one. Priced at $278, it's def an investment, but considering I've owned every, single one of my CoH denim for years and year (and years!), I'll vouch for these being another great closet staple.

These are gonna be the coolest summer jeans ever, and it's amazing that they look so good with heels, yes?! The frayed hemline and deep pockets are just icing on the cake.

Tell me. Will you be trying culottes this summer?

Exclusive MiH Spring Collection on Net-A-Porter.com

Happy FriYAY, everyone! Funny I was just talking with the Shop BURU girls the other day about MiH and how I've heard lots of things, but never tried it! (Did you know it stands for Made in Heaven? Did not know that...blonde moment.) So then I got word that MiH is launching a spring capsule collection on Net-A-Porter.com and instead of my usual squeal, I nearly screamed. EEK. It's beyond chic.

This exclusive collection just launched this week, and, oh, consider it to include everything my closet needs. Is a pair of long-sleeve shortalls an essential? Yes, yes, it is. As well as this striped top and sheath. They are all perfect pieces I might live in for spring! (I used to shy away from stripes, but I've really been hunting for a striped top lately, so this is fate.)

The sheath is my fav dress silhouette of all time, and I'd dress this one up with statement jewelry and bright heels. Love. It. Go to the site and check out the full collection now...it's completely dreamy. Pretty much similar to heaven.

How I Wore My...Snow Boots?!

Today's post is not normal at all. As most of you know by now, I live in the south. It. Never. Snows. We whine and cry and sob about how we never get any...and most of the time it's only yucky ice...and then. It came down hard today - and we rejoiced! The thing is, last week little C. missed two days of school for ice and now (at least) two days this week for snow. Mama's going loco! :) And while I do terribly miss my heels (sigh...spring, where ARE you?), I'm so incredibly glad I have my Sorels to get me through this crazy southern cold spell.

We've got our first family ski trip planned in another month, and these babies are def going with me to the slopes. Granted, I won't make it but half a day in the frigid temps out there, but hey, maybe I'll look cute! Lately, I've been wearing so much plaid and I think this is a trend that will def carry over into spring. It's hard to tell bundled up in the photos, but this one is uniquely acid-washed by a local friend of mine who makes them...it's pretty cool! (Follow L. on instagram.)

Of course, during the winter, just add faux fur to anything. I bought this one in New York at a Piperlime pop-up shop years ago (can you believe they're shuttering, by the way?) and practically gave up on it forever. Don't you love when you rediscover something? And I don't know if printed jeans are still a thing, but I still wear mine 'til death do us part.

Happy rest of the week to you...and once this snow melts I've got a really fun spring project I'm working on with Porch.com. Stay tuned, sunshines! xoxo

Oscars Red Carpet: Heart It or Hate It?

The Oscars red carpet is a night I always look forward to, like any fashion-loving chicster. No, really. I lock myself in my room away from all screaming babies and kids (bless my husband) and just focus. The dresses...the sparkly jewelry...the hair and makeup. Bless the celebrity stylists who work so hard to make these women look impeccable. (And it's definitely a shame you can't ever see all of the fabulous shoes!)

This year's red carpet brought lots of color! But true to my Virgo self, my favs wound up being those with a more muted palette. I like a dress that makes an entrance with its style and doesn't rely on color alone.

Emma Stone has been one of my favs on every, single red carpet lately and I've about decided that she's just perfect. That's all it can be, right? Her new tousled 'do is everything, and I loved how she swept it up to the side for an asymmetrical look to pair with her amazing gold Elie Saab gown. And the back of this dress was completely cut-out and shut-up-I-love-it-so-much jaw-dropping gorgeous. That's all.

Who else looked great showing a little skin? Naomi Watts, of course. This girl's gown game was ON. Loved that Armani Prive because heavens, that bandeau. And I'm pretty sure it sparkled. It reminds me of my fav workout top, but so much chicer. The back is glorious indeed.
And I simply can't walk away from a red carpet viewing without loving a pair of LBDs. These are anything but your typical, however. Margot Robbie left Twitter going crazy with her understated elegance in YSL. I couldn't be more obsessed with this entire look down to that Van Cleef & Arpels necklace. It works perfectly with that V-neck and I've gotta say, I love a dress with sleeves.

But a chic Margiela LBD with no sleeves? Cate Blanchett makes that look incredible without hardly trying. Her look proves the power of the accessory and I love, love, love it. The Tiffany & Co. turquoise necklace left me staring all night until I finally couldn't help but put her at the top of my list. Margiela plus turquoise Tiffany equals simplistic perfection.
And, of course, Reese Witherspoon brought her best look again. A clean-lined, off-the-shoulder Tom Ford gown that looked white all night on screen, but I'm getting reports it's actually ice blue with a black velvet border. It's just the opposite of her 2011 look. Her (sweet, sweet) stylist Leslie Fremar is one of the most respected in the business and def knows what works. And kudos to Molly Stern application (who will be on the blog soon!) for her amazing, glowing make-up (St. Tropez is an essential!).

There weren't too many dresses on my "extreme no" list and for the sake of being kind, I'm not even going to go there and really "hate it." (hey, it just made a good title, y'all.) But truly? I read so many tweets loving Julianne Moore in this custom Chanel. While, yes, it is custom Chanel, I've seen Julianne (a fellow redhead) rock so many more gorgeous dresses (hello, green is def her color.) And while Patricia Arquette is always her quirky self, the fit of her dress was quite the same. It didn't work for me. Big busts need not wear white on top with such little support. Amen?

Others I sighed at from afar? Jessica Chastain (just wow...I've never seen her look so dowdy)...Gwyneth Paltrow (her shoulder was literally in bloom) and Jennifer Lopez (many people loved, but I had a hard time taking her seriously with those pink lips).

A few other awards, before we go...
Best makeup? Def Kerry Washington
Best hair? Margot Robbie (I'll have the deets from Garnier on here soon!)
Most unexpected gown that I kinda liked? Marion Cotillard in Dior
Best body? Zoe Saldana (hello, she had twins in December)
Best dress hue? America Ferrera in a gorgeous ombre teal crepe Jenny Packham
Best male? Adam Levine. No explanation here.
Best shoes? Lupita Nyong'O in custom Nicholas Kirkwood (satin Casati pearl slingback pump)
