In case you're wondering I haven't posted in a few days because I've been really busy anticipating the complete redesign of I Heart Heels. I know, right?! It's enough to make anyone squeal!
I started this sweet little blog of mine in the spring of 2008, so that means this May it will be a whopping NINE years old. I figured it was time for a huge refresh.
**insert huge deep breathe**
So...here goes!
It's not that I'm tired of seeing it look as it does now (although you prob are?), it's that with time I think it's always a good idea to freshen things up, especialy when it comes to design. I've been using a template (which is embarrassing) from Blogger since I started with a cool logo my friend made for me. And while I loved it for so long, and still do, I'm so excited (can't even tell you how excited!) to have a new person come in and completely redesign the entire thing so that it's much easier for you to navigate and even prettier than it's ever been before. Gotta showcase those shoes in the best light, ya know?
So by next week, look for this huge change. I think it's fitting for so many changes I've had personally this past year to go ahead and move forward with a blog refresh as well. It's perfect, actually.
Will you celebrate with me? I've got some major exciting things in the works, y'all! (maybe a giveaway or two very soon?) Keep checking back for the NEW I Heart Heels. Wink.
(insert more squeals!!!!)

Stuart Weitzman Grandioise Booties
It's that time of year, ya'll. Fall is literally in less than two weeks away and I can feel the fall fashion in the air. Squeal!! I mean, it is New York Fashion Week, after all. (transport me now)
The first thing that comes to mind is new footwear, and I've got my eyes on so many chic booties this year, it's crazy. Everywhere I turn there is another style I love, but when these pretties from Stuart Weitzman landed in my inbox, I couldn't stop staring.
Camel. suede. booties. No wonder Anne Hathaway has been spotted in them recently! The Grandiose camel booties are everything a shoe lover could dream of. And at $525, it doesn't seem that ridculous. Right?! Ok, wishful thinking. I mean, if I gave up Starbucks for a few months, these could be mine. (scary thought though, right?)
The block heel is everywhere this season, and I don't blame it for wanting to show out. It's incredible. And you can walk in it - joy! These have a glorious pointed toe and the angular silhouette is so chic and different than just your average bootie.
It's time to scoop these beauties up and pair them with a flirty floral dress. I'm so ready.

The Perfect Sneakers...What? I Said It.
Have you ever stared at a pair of sneakers and wondered why? How? How could you possibly like it? I swear to you that the athletic shoe trend has totally stepped up the game in fashion. I mean, not on the same level as high heels, obvi, but on a whole new level.
Take the Kenneth Cole Kam sneakers, for instance. Olivia Palermo has been spotted not once, but three times, in them. Looking at these sneakers, I insisted upon first glance I hated them. Nope, couldn't do it.
Then, it happened. The more I looked at them and the more I Googled Olivia Palermo and her outfits wearing them (you know, as perfectly as she does), the more I had. to. have. these shoes.
Especially that new black sweatshirt dress I own. Now if I could just convince my boss they're office approp...

Fall Shoe Trends You're Gonna Love
Our favorite time of year is just a week away! The MAGIC tradeshow opens next Monday, August 15 in Las Vegas and we can’t wait to see what next season has in store. FN PLATFORM @ MAGIC is always a must-see show and this year is no different! The ultimate shoe show will have some amazing activations on the show floor including an appearance by shoe designer Chris Francis, who’s bringing his Los Angeles workshop to Sin City and an opening night performance by Wilson Phillips. Like years past, FN PLATFORM will showcase the latest and greatest in footwear by brands like Sperry Topsider, Oliberte, Vagabond, Havianas, among tons others. We had a chance to chat with our favorite shoe gal and UBM Fashion Group’s President of Footwear, Leslie Gallin, about all of the footwear trends we’ll be spotting in stores next season.
Here are Leslie’s top five footwear trends all fashionistas need to nab:
1. MULES
Sometimes there’s a trend that’s so easy and cool, you can’t help but fall in with the crowd! This season, it’s the mule. The easy to wear and comfortable style has built a following with ‘it’ girls everywhere and is sticking around in the coming seasons. Its casual and chic aesthetic is making this a closet staple.
2. MID-HEELS
Arches rejoice! This sole soothing style is sticking around; not too high and not too low, shoe enthusiasts are loving this style because of its practicality and feminine appeal. Dressed up or down, mid-heels are totally wearable for every day.
3. SNEAKERS/CREEPERS
Even the most daring of fashion-lovers may find this style hard to pull off. Drawing from punk and grunge themes, creepers add instant edge to a typically feminine outfit. Embrace the chunky style by pairing them with a feminine dress or skinny jeans.
4. ANKLE STRAPS
Simple yet sultry, ankle strap styles offer sex appeal and versatility. Easily dressed up or down, this style can be seen on the streets just as easily as the red carpet.
5. BOOTIES
This fashion mainstay has been with us for a few seasons now and has no plans to depart anytime soon. Booties have become a trusty day-to-day staple easily translated between seasons. Update your ankle boot game with design details like buckles, embossed leather or a daring, colorful leather like red!

Stuart Weitzman Has Me Craving Fall Shoes
Happy Fri-YAY, everyone! I know it's been a bit (blush), but guess what? I'm having a littttttle bit of technical difficulty with my iPhoto (ok, I'm stressing about just a bit - I could lose my photos, what?!), so I thought I'd write about shoes today to calm myself the heck down. Who doesn't love a good shoe post on a Friday anyway.
While I adore spring/summer lovelies, fall/winter shoes just can't be beat. They are the grandmama of them all. And since Stuart Weitzman decided to pair up with (no pun intended) model Gigi Hadid, I had to share. Like, now. For the 10th year, it was shot by famed photographer Mario Testino and that's pretty amazing.
I'm super excited for this collection - and these ads. This black-and-white campaign channels strength and motion and was inspired by Gigi's own workout routine. Metallic boots. Slouchy boots (yes, please). Boots that make you look longer and leaner. And the famous Nudist high heel with mink adorning it. What a great update to this classic shoe for fall! If that doesn't get you excited on a Friday, what will?! It doesn't get any better than this.
I hope to return to more posts next week if I can get technology to cooperate. Until then, have a happy weekend! xoxo

Win a Pair of Wedges...No Joke!

These woven wedges (available for pre-order online today at White House Black Market! in stores April 11.) are so perfect for spring - the striped wedge heel sets it apart from all of the rest and brings a chic, sleek edge to the game. (I squealed just a bit when I first tried them on my feet!) An ankle strap, a peep-toe, a gorgeous brown hue...it's the formula for an amazing shoe, lovelies!

I've been wearing these wedges with so many pieces - from a crisp, white button-down dress to rolled jeans. The neutral hues on this wedge make it so easy to pair with white.

Comfort and style are super important to me and since I work full time and chase two little kids, these wedges are the ticket. I'm loving them and living in them. Now, do you want to WIN them? I've made it super easy for you. All you have to do is enter your info in the box below (there are lots of extra ways to get extra entries, too!) and voila! At the end of the month, we'll choose one lucky winner at random.

Good luck and happy spring shoe season! xoxo a Rafflecopter giveaway

Below are Leslie’s top 5 trend picks for 2016. To learn more
about the show, please visit http://www.fnplatform.com/.
LESLIE GALLIN’S TOP 5 TRENDS:
Pastel Colors – When
2016’s Pantone color combo of the year was announced, fashionistas around
the globe rejoiced! Pretty pastels will be translated throughout fashion –
including footwear! The soft, ultra-feminine shades offer sophisticated
elegance that isn’t too sugary sweet.
Monk Strap Styles – Monk
strap styles are very much in their prime. The eye-catching detail walks
the fine line of casual comfort and sharp formality. Popular in both men’s
and women’s styles, say ‘goodbye!’ to lace-up’s, monk straps will be the
shoe of the season.
Kitten Heels – In with the
old and out with the new, grandma's heels are back! The kitten heel has
been gaining popularity and style mavens have spoken by pairing comfort
and sophistication in one. Paired with a cropped pair of trousers or
skinny jeans, go ahead and channel your inner Audrey Hepburn!
Lug Soles – It’s no secret that the nineties are back in a big way! With that comes the industrial chic trend that was once reserves for hikers and construction workers. The lug sole has made its way into the fashion world thanks to design houses like Prada and Stella McCartney. Expect to see this style paired below heeled booties or oxfords in 2016.
Desert Boots – Dressed up
or down, the desert boot is a classic, versatile option. Both streamlined
and lightweight, it’s the perfect transitional piece for spring to fall.
Worn by both men and women, this simple style will be seen throughout
2016.

Hello, Billy Reid Footwear
We all need endless footwear options for the summer, yes? So here I am to suggest these beauties from Billy Reid. Of course I'm drawn to the wedges, but I couldn't just post those because I also fell madly in love with the sandals as well. SWOON. Don't you just love the hues?
Slingbacks are my thing, and the Adina wedges ($495) are gorgeous! Available in blue, crocodile or rust nude, I've really gotta get my hands on these cuties. What's crazy is the same colors transfer amazingly well to the Cross Strap sandal ($325) is below. The tri-tonal color pattern actually includes contrasting suede and canvas straps. How adorable does it look with shorts and a fancy top?
The Hadar Sandal ($325) is super polished, and I really do heart that. One reason I stray away from flats is they can look so sloppy and downright unattractive. Shoes really can ruin a great outfit, but these totally make it! I love how they can make this skirt look amazing, but could also pair just as well with shorts or skinny jeans. Maybe I need one of each style? Wink.

How I Wore My Heels: Cobalt Blue
Don't hate me, but the weather around here has been gorgeous. I can't believe the mild January we've had and I'm so happy. Because while I am planning a ski trip, my heart belongs to warmer weather...and peeptoes. I'm so, so happy to be in these peeptoes from Sole Society. Just looking at the amazing cobalt color on them makes me smile. I love a great animal-print, and I think cobalt blue is my fav heel "color", so mixing the two is just genius in my book.
Not to mention, I had the perfect blue sweater in my closet to pair with them. It's a couple of years old from Nicole Richie's Winter Kate line, but I've gotten some good use out of it. And did you know it's all because of this fabulous, glitzy sweater I was patted down at LaGuardia? Good times, good times. I mean, where's the love for sparkle these days, seriously.
All winter long I've kinda been cheating and wearing leather leggings. These have an elastic waistband and go with everything in my closet, soooo...some day I really need to make an attempt to wear my jeans again. But for now, I'm loving how I can wear these with either boots or heels. And, ya know, my Rebecca Minkoff crossbody MAC never leaves my side. Classic.
Tell me...what kind of heel makes *you* feel pretty?

Sofia Vergara's (Sparkly!) SAG Award Shoes
When choosing heels, sometimes I ask myself...what would Sofia Vergara wear?
To the SAG Awards? She wore these sparkly pretties by Brian Atwood. I mean, hol-y mama. This girl must have some high-heel wearing practice because these aren't for the faint of heart (haven't you seen her prancing through the airport wearing heels this size though? She's a natural, y'all.) These are the crystal Alesha peeptoes and she wore them with a stunning red gown (obvi).
The other day I caught up with Sofia on Twitter (I mean, yes?! Crazy? Right?!) And she I had this to say about heels, which pretty much sums up how she can walk in these Brian Atwood beauties. Wink.

Win a Pair of Nike Trainers!
I know, so much fitness lately, right? I guess I'm feeling guilty for taking THREE whole months off from working out, y'all. But now? Ok I'm inspired by my new shoes. Duh. In case you weren't as aware, my heel obsession carries over to most genres of shoes and you might just label me a shoe lover, in general. Go ahead. I don't mind.
So these are the Nike Roshe running shoes with a fun, subtle animal print on them. I'm obsessed. If these shoes aren't the greatest for running, they're also amazing to look at, yes?
Nike has some amazing trainers and I'm having so much fun not only wearing athletic shoes like this to workout in, but with dresses. I saw so much of this at fashion week and it's really fun! Mix up your heels and athletic shoes during the week and have fun being both chic and sporty.
And because the holidays are approaching and I'm soooo nice, I'm giving away a pair of these Nike shoes to one lucky winner! Just enter your info in the box below and I'll choose a winner at random next week. Sweet present, huh?
Love, y'all! Xoxo

Bionda Castana: "It" Shoe Label of the Moment
A couple of years ago, I was introduced to the European luxury shoe label Bionda Castana ("Blonde Brunette" in Italian). I immediately fell in love. So, I visited the showroom in Soho while in New York and met up with co-founder and designer Natalia Barbieri (shown left...Jennifer Portman is also co-founder and designer, shown right.). Natalia is as gorgeous as her shoes and kindly walked me through her collection, allowing me to photograph them and really study them for the blog. (I was too timid at the time and honestly too crazed from fashion week to ask to try on a pair, but next time I think it's a must, yes?)
So when I recently learned that celebrities have been going nuts over the brand's shoes, I sorta squealed with delight. You like to see small brands "make" it and you like to support those who work hard, but also make time for even the most minute bloggers (blush). Or I know I like to see that, anyway. So, I'm thrilled to include this QA today with Natalia that outlines all my burning questions on the label, including who she wants to see wear them next! I hope you enjoy...and tell me which is your fav.
I Heart Heels: So many celebrities have worn the Lana heel lately. It's just lovely! Why do you think they gravitate towards this style so much?
Natalia Barbieri: Lana is our take on the classic single sole pump and is reflective of our love of architecture and art. This particular shape and style is very on trend. It's not ‘plain’ yet works in the same capacity as a ‘plain’ pump would with added cool. The shoe is easily worn with any outfit and is available in every color of the rainbow. Also, the fabrication of the style is popular because it's breathable. When wearing heels, our feet naturally swell, but the soft mesh at the front of the toes keeps our feet comfortable and this style doesn’t rub in the same way a leather-lined pump would.

IHH: Being a smaller shoe label, how hard is it to keep up with the competition? It seems you're doing it very well.
NB: The challenge is always, and will always be, how can we make the next collection better than the one before, what can we do in between seasons to keep the fire burning and how else can we tell our story while still keeping it in line with the brand values (be it through fashion film, collaborations with artists, etc.). There is a lot of competition out there. But it’s all creatively brilliant and exciting.
IHH: What's your own personal fav from the fall collection?
NB: I personally live in the DEKOTA bi-color bootie. It works with absolutely everything in my wardrobe and is perhaps the most comfortable shoe I’ve owned, EVER.
IHH: Working with shoes must be a dream job! (I mean, we think so.) What are some pros and cons of the job.
NB: Working with your best friend is the ultimate pro. A con is not having a lot of spare time - but I guess everyone can say the same thing.
IHH: Which celebrities do you want to see wearing Bionda Castana next?
NB: Diane Kruger, Jessica Chastain and Beyoncé.
IHH: What are some of the details on your shoes that make then stand out from other shoe labels?
NB: We work with bold prints, but that are still tasteful and wearable. Also, our use of transparency is a signature of ours. It’s the aesthetic of the brand, it’s not something we come up with per season. It just is.
IHH: Who is the Bionda Castana girl?
NB: She's cool, confident and elegant in a non-traditional way. Not trying too hard, yet cuts a striking figure.

It's My Birthday: Let's Enjoy a Good Shoe Book
I'm really taking today "off" from the blog in honor of my birthday, gals. (Can you guess how young I am today?!) But I thought I'd mention this adorable coloring book I was sent: Shoes, Shoes, Shoes: A Delightful Book of Imaginary Footwear for Coloring, Decorating, and Dreaming ($12.99).
Here's a little info on it:
Legendary designer Seymour Chwast and award-winning book designer Carol Chu collaborated to create a charming, super-cool coloring book featuring more than 100 original shoe designs to color and create. Paired with quotes from philosophers, rock stars, designers, and other taste makers, these shoes give visual life to some words of wisdom. Seymour Chwast, one of the most influential artists of the twentieth century, is founder of the world-famous Push Pin Studios, where he has created a style that is synonymous with the most creative and progressive aspects of graphic art and design. This book, with an introduction by New York Times "Visuals" columnist Steven Heller, encourages fashionistas of all ages to let their imaginations soar. Shoes, Shoes, Shoes pushes design to where it should go: to the unknown, to the new, and the daring. It's what high fashion is truly all about.
I'm so, so excited to celebrate another year of life...healthy, happy and one lucky girl! I'm really counting my blessings these days, and I'm so excited to bring up another lil' shoe lover shown here. It's genetic. :)

Free ShoeDAYS Giveaway with The Promenade at Chenal
It's August, my shoe-loving friends...squeal! If you truly love shoes, you know fall is THE best time to find amazing shoes. Boots, heels, flats, tennis shoes, you name it! This fall I'm having a ball ogling all the new styles because (squeal again!), I'm not pregnant. Now that baby is six months old, I'm starting to wear more and more chic styles and that's so thrilling. In fact, a couple of weeks ago I visited my favorite shopping center in town, The Promenade at Chenal, and found so many fall styles I'm gonna have to have in my closet (I'm clearing space now...it's a little crowded. Blush.)
I'm so, so excited to partner with The Promenade and share what they have going on during the month of August. If you're local, girls, you're gonna have to enter this amazing shoe giveaway! This chic outdoor shopping center in west Little Rock has four shoe stores (although most of the stores in the center carry shoes...J.Crew...White House Black Market...trust me when I say I've scouted them all!). I spent the morning visiting DSW, Warren's Shoes, Paul's Shoes and Nike. (Not a bad morning, eh?) There are some pretty sweet options for back to school, but really just everyday life, y'all. I'm most obsessed with the ankle bootie trend (as seen at DSW) because you can really wear these with anything (especially leggings or skinny jeans!) and the pointy-toe, ankle-strap heels (as seen at Warren's) are major...if I could, I'd wear these every day of my life (we're talking even trips to the grocery store). Paul's has the best selection of Sperry Top-Sider (which is always trendy) and I'm obsessed with all of the bright Nikes for my cardio, but they've also got some pretty gorgeous black styles that are going to be very stylish for fall. (You can totally get away with wearing them with an outfit, and I love that!)
So, what's with the giveaway, right?!
Every Friday this month, the Promenade is giving away a FREE pair of shoes from one of the four shoe stores mentioned above. And there are only three steps you have to do to enter. Just click over to the blog to see how to do it (and check out more of my favorite shoes)...so easy! If you win, you've gotta let me know! Good luck and air kisses...xoxo

Jewel Tone Heels, Please
Blue or pink, what do you think? Ha, remember when I had my gender reveal party? It was almost a whole year ago...WOW. I know I've been blogging about baby stuff WAY too much (and losing weight...blush), so I thought I owed ya a little eye candy on this beautiful Tuesday.
The Stuart Weitzman Nudist sandal is. a. jewel. And with jewel tones being so on trend for fall, might as well purchase one of these as a "transition shoe," right? Once you own a pair of Stuart Weitzman heels, the rest is history. Honestly, Louboutin, Manolo, Choo...give me a Weitzman and I'm happy. These are amazing shoes that will stand the test of time. I think I'm ready to add to my collection...squeal!! (You see that? I'm slowly getting back to my old self...) Shoe closet, let's do this.
P.S. Taylor Schilling and Abigail Spencer recently wore these hues. The shoe comes in sooooo many colors, I think every celeb owns one in their own fav color.
