You Glow Girl

Only 1-2 percent of the population has red hair. Yep, you guessed it and I’m one of them. While I wouldn’t trade my locks for anything in the world (except maybe a half-price Prada purse in either cream or brown), I must admit it is quite frustrating always looking like I haven’t seen daylight in several months. And as a redhead, I’ve tried one lifesaving self-tanner after the other asking my mother “don’t you think I look more tan today?” and her response: “maybe a little bit.” A LITTLE BIT?? You mean I spent 15 minutes lathering the most disgusting scent on my body and then running around naked for 10 more minutes while it dried on my skin to look a little bit more tan. Sigh.

And so Jergens Natural Glow enters the picture. It comes in three different shades to complement your skin tone, and I love it because it really does give me more than a little bit of color. In fact, someone commented the other day about how I looked like I had gotten more sun. I just smiled. It does have a slight odor, but honestly I haven’t found one that doesn’t. If you apply it daily, you get the most benefit. The best part is you can get it at your local Walgreen’s, Target, etc. for around $8 and it lasts a couple of months. And that’s worth a lot to a redhead.

P.S. You still want to make sure you apply SPF when you’re in the sun to avoid harmful rays.
