I've tried to wear the hat with my hair up, but it really looks silly - as if I have no hair. The first weekend I bought it I wore my hair in a low ponytail down the side of my neck. Sorta cute, I thought. But really made me look like a contestant off the retro Star Search or a Stephanie Tanner-wannabe (remember when she did that dance on Full House to "All for Love?" Classic...). Since those weren't the looks I was going for, I decided wearing my hair down was my best bet. I love this look! It's very celeb-like as if I threw it on for a coffee run to Starbucks down the street as I was dodging the shutterbugs.

Trend Alert: Newsboy Hats!
I am soooo excited about my new purple, plaid newsboy hat from Manhattan Hat Company. I've had it a couple of weeks now, and am trying so hard not to wear it every day. My mom used to make fun of me (actually she still does!) for wearing anything new she bought me immediately. If not the next day to school, I would put it on that evening for dinner - I just couldn't wait! What's funny, is some things never change and I stillllll do the same thing with my purchases.
And yes, I couldn've opted for brown or black, but purple seemed to pop with my fair skin and strawberry blonde hair so much more. I recommend a color for sure when shopping for your own newsboy. Kate Walsh's is gray, but I'll cut her some slack. Still chic as ever.

I think the purple was a good choice. Gives you some pep during the cold, dreary winter months.
