This afternoon I attended the ADAM by Adam Lippes show at the Bryant Park Promenade - my first show there! Being a single person with no entourage sure helped, because I was able to finagle an actual seat (rather than standing room only like tons of others were stuck with), and that also meant I got a goodie in my seat - a beautiful black limited-edition silk screened Love is Blind tee (proceeds benefit The Sandra F. Lippes Cancer Research Fund). Can't wait to wear it back home (it's a chilly 40 degrees here!)! I spotted Jennifer Love-Hewitt in the first row as well as Whitney Port and Erin from The City (one of the shows I'm addicted to). Anna Wintour, editor of Vogue, was there as well, although I didn't see her as she was seated at the opposite end of the runway.
All in the all, I loved this show! It brought such a fresh, funky perspective to Fashion Week - and for fall. I adored the bright colors, especially the colored tights by Hue. If you bought a pair this past fall, you'll be able to pull them back out again (whew, thank you, Adam!). The basis of the collection was from Japanese kimonos filled with vibrant colors and rich textures.
I loved the fuschia (one of the dominant colors of the collection) plaid short coat, as well as the shocking orange fur chubby - striking and original! Lots of slouchy tanks (so urban hip), flowy silk dresses and even intricate embroidery. And the heels? All by Christian Louboutin - what more can I say?!
