Fashion Week Day 3: Band of Outsiders

This afternoon I took the subway down to Canal St. (aka Chinatown) and wandered my way into the Band of Outsiders presentation. Amazing! I loved the styling done with this collection - so cool! Sometimes the off site presentations can really be a great opportunity to see the clothing up close and personal. The models were caught lounging on old park benches, resting on a vintage piano or next to a stack of newspapers, resting in wing back chairs and on an old iron bed - even playing a game of horseshoes! Band of Outsiders is definitely geek chic (down to the colorblock socks!) and I loved all of the newsboy hats and camel hues. Blazers, penny loafers and these hilarious lace-up stilettos modeled to look like ice-skating shoes. So odd they were cute! This presentation completely brought me back to another era - so unique, so classic and so very wearable.

P.S. Kanye West is a huge fan and needless to say I rubbed elbows with him for a bit. ;) Here's one of the many photos I snapped of him as he walked around in his denim jacket and Louis Vuitton camo bag.
