It's already time to start shopping for spring, can you believe it? Every year, at this time, I have to literally force myself to put away the wool riding pants, tweed jackets and boots I love so much, to make room for all the pretty frilly spring florals and breezy dresses. I love it when spring arrives, but the transition of clothing is one of the hardest, in my opinion! To start getting you in the spring shopping mood, I've pulled together some looks from one of my fav spring trends (as seen on the runway at Marc by Marc Jacobs and Aurelio Costarella) - ruffles! So girly and feminine, when placed in the right spots (around the neck/at the bottom of a piece), ruffles look adorable on any girl. I can't stop staring at this ruffle blouse by Mike & Chris (one of my fav labels!). It looks so chic under a black leather vest and mini. And the feminine details perfectly balance with the rocker edge of the short skirt and vest.
I'm also a sucker for the color pink paired with ruffles - it's just the perfect combo. Both this LIFEwithBIRD and Yoanna Baraschi dress look so cool with a pair of neutral-colored heels, or even metallic. Keep it simple whenever you do, you wouldn't want to steal the ruffles' spotlight, now would you?
