Happy Whiny Wednesday, chic mamas! Today, I'm super-excited to share with you a Q&A with new mom (and now shoe designer!), Kristin Cavallari. KC now has a major shoe collab Chinese Laundry by Kristin Cavallari and we couldn't be happier (um, for her and us). At I Heart Heels, we're obsessed with this brand and now her capsule collection (in fact, just had a personal tour of it yesterday by the CL team and it's gooooood). I Heart Heels: Obviously as a new mom, flats are your new friend. What's your fav and why?

Kristin Cavallari: Flats are definitely my new best friend! I love the Amore style from my new collection [because] the embellishments add a little something extra to dress up my everyday outfits. 

IHH: What inspired some of your shoe designs, and what made you want to be a part of the Chinese Laundry brand?

KC: I wanted to do a shoe line that I loved and that represented my style at affordable prices. My inspiration comes from everywhere – my travels, runway shows, fashion magazines. I consider my collection to have that fashionable and trendy element, yet it still maintains a classic and timeless look. I think Chinese Laundry was the perfect partner to bring my designs to life. I've always been a fan of the brand and it’s amazing that I now have my own collection within the Chinese Laundry umbrella.

IHH: Describe your shoe style, in a nutshell.

KC: My shoe style depends on my mood. I love getting dressed up with a great pair of sky-high heels, but also love my comfy flats for everyday wear!

IHH: Would you ever wear sneaker wedges that are so popular right now?

KC: I do appreciate the style, but I don’t know if I could pull them off. 

IHH: Everyone wants to know how you juggle new projects like this with being a new mom. Do you have help?
KC: I have a very supportive family that helps make it all possible! Juggling family and work has been a learning experience, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything in this world. I don’t get as much sleep as I would like to, but I feel very blessed to have so many new and exciting opportunities in my life.
