Fashion Week Day 6: Carmen Marc Valvo

Tonight I stopped by the Carmen Marc Valvo presentation at hot spot Citrine on 21st St. Wow! It's hard to sum up the presence of being in a room with such immensely creative people!

The gowns (popular with stars like Catherine Zeta-Jones, Beyonce, Leona Lewis and Eva Longoria) were featured on life-size mannequins as well as a video looped continuously at the front of the room and even a couple of live models. This year marks the 20th anniversary of Carmen Marc Valvo designing under his own label (congrats!) and still knows how to dazzle.

Make-up was by Carlo Longo for Vincent Longo and hair by the renowned Ted Gibson. The fall collection showcased a lot of one-shoulder gowns, grosgrain ribbon, pleats, beads and metallic lace. (I just love the one-shoulder gowns - what a great way to show off a sexy feature - your shoulders! And I especially love how the royal blue gown was topped off with a beautiful brooch. Sort of the icing on the cake!) Flapper style, jewel tones, draped and ruched lace. I'm loving these delightful treats for fall and can't wait to see who will show up next in one on the red carpet (you know someone will!)!
