Fashion Week Day 6: Milly
My last show tonight (and for this entire season - sob!!) was Milly by Michelle Smith. I. absolutely. loved. this. collection. No question - I loved! The label was started by a girl from FIT who loved fashion and knew it was her calling and has only been around since 2000. Since its start, celeb favs include Beyonce, Victoria Beckham and Thandie Newton. And spotted in the front row this season? Elisabeth Hasselbeck, Julia Stiles (squeal!) and Mary J. Blige (shades, sleek cropped cut and all!). Here's more exclusive video from the show - and you can see Julia (shoulders bare - great posture!) and Elisabeth (on the far end and a little harder to spot) in the background.
Make-up was by M.A.C. and hair by Kevin Ryan for R-Sessions. My FAV part of the look was the hair. Low (sometimes off-kilter/messy) ponytail and chic black, headband. All of the collection was so girly and typical of Milly, and I clapped my hands with excitement (or wanted to anyway - don't think I could bust that out in the middle of the show) over the bows, bows and bows! Oh, and ruffles! A certain candy-pink silk skirt was irresistable as well as the ecru ruffled blouse with high-waisted black skirt. Minis were rocked and halters were stars, too. Even wool, tweed and twill on some very cute jackets. It's good to see no matter the economy, girls will still be girls. - xoxo
P.S. It's been a whirlwind week, and I want to thank everyone who has allowed me to be a part of my first Fashion Week (I think I'm now officially coming down with the "Fashion Week Flu" - sore throat, headache and tired all over. Don't worry though, I'll be back home in fine form tomorrow posting as usual. Talk soon!
